Explore what we offer
Talk Therapy
Traditional talk therapy is a classic for a reason. Being able to slow down, share past traumas and memories, and really sit with your experiences and emotions is an important element of trauma work. Sometimes you may want to do the big Trauma work, but don’t really know how to start. Talk therapy is a great place to figure that out for yourself.
Trauma Sensitive Yoga
Traumas Sensitive Yoga is an empirically studied approach that utilizes neuroscience research with yoga principles and the body to integrate experiences. This approach slows you down and helps you build awareness and connection to your body and your traumas. This is helpful if you are very “in your head” and need to come back down into your body.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing. What a mouth full. EMDR is a heavily researched and scientifically supported intervention that helps you process your traumas. Engaging in this intervention can help you decrease your distress around past traumas, and then reprocess those experiences to think and view them differently. This is helpful if you have a single memory or many instances of trauma you want to heal from.
Who we are
Hi, I’m Kelly!
I formed Root and Rise Counseling in 2026, and I am passionate about providing services that are built on mutual trust and respect, emotional safety, and careful challenges. I love to make jokes and bring humor and personal interests into the session, because sometimes a laugh is healing too.
This practice is rooted in the science of psychology, neuroscience, and attachment injuries, and we get to work together to rise above past experiences, to make a new future for yourself that you truly enjoy living in.
I suppose if you have some fun while you’re here, that’s a win in my book.
